"TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!"
The famous like spoken by Obadiah Stane in the first Iron Man film, which referred to Tony Stark's Mark I armor, which was literally build in a cave using metal scraps.
For my World of Stark series, I wanted shoes inspired by a combination of key armors seen throughout the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), along with some armors that may not have played a huge role, but that I thought had really cool and interesting design aesthetics. And of course, I couldn't do this series without including the armor that started it all.

The initial armor design is very blocky and not the most visually appealing, as it was after all, made from scraps. But it still has an interesting vibe and was also temporarily effective in the film. I wanted to create a design that symbolized this armor: fairly simple and rough around the edges, giving off the feel of an armor prototype. I went with the Air Force 1 High since I thought a high-top shoe can add a bulkier look to the theme.

And the finished product:

I included some little details like the numbering & lettering seen on the actual armor as well as giving it a distressed metal look all around the shoes, including the midsole areas.
This particular shoe is a 1-of-1 and will not be remade. However, select designs from later on in this series will be available to purchase. This series will consist of 25 different shoes and I will be posting at least one new pair from the series every week from now until mid-August. Next week will be the Mark II armor.
Stay tuned!
