The Mark 21 armor, nicknamed "Midas", is another one of the Iron Legion armors seen in the final battle in Iron Man 3. The armor is nicknamed Midas due to its color. Midas is a figure from Greek mythology who was granted his wish to turn anything he touched into gold. The armor also has the ability to fly at high altitudes, being designed to withstand low pressure and cold temperatures.
I wanted to do this theme for two reasons: one is because I thought the Iron Man design looks cool in all gold (the original Jack Kirby design was all yellow which may have had a hand in inspiring this modern design). Another is that I had never done an all-gold custom shoe and saw this as a good chance.
For the original base shoe, I went with the Nike Air Force 1 low:

I wanted almost all gold everything for this shoe, from the upper to the sock liner to the metallic gold laces.
