The Mark 39 armor, nicknamed "Starboost", is another one of the Iron Legion armors seen in the final battle in Iron Man 3. The armor has capabilities that allow it to travel into space and is built to withstand the cold temperature and radiation in space and was built in with an oxygen tank to allow Tony to be able to breathe while in space.
I love the uniqueness of this particular armor and how it doesn't have the traditional red, gold, and silver colors as the majority of Tony's armor designs. I debated for a while which shoe I thought would work best for this theme and while there are a few that I narrowed it down to, I ended up going with the Air Force 1 highs (mainly because I had a personal pair laying around in my studio for about a year that I had never done anything with).
And the finished product:
I love the stylized pentagonal shape of the arc reactor as well as the greyish silver/dark grey/gold color combo. That along with the honeycomb pattern gives the Starboost design a real spaceship vibe. Almost how I would imagine the cockpit and/or exterior of a spaceship to look.
